Welcome to my blog! This week I’m talking about our amazing new office space and what this means for Unforgettable .
Today was moving day. I decided to drive to work so I could use my car to help with the move…but as anyone who’s ever driven in London during the morning rush hour knows, it can be a depressingly dispiriting experience. In fact, it took me 45 minutes to drive half a mile to the office, but once I finally arrived the move itself went smoothly. By lunchtime we were all getting used to our new workspace and really appreciating how much bigger and brighter it is.
Later, I had a fascinating meeting with Narinder Kapur a Consultant neuropsychologist who set up the first Memory Aids Clinic in the country. Narinder has a website which helps people who come to his clinics to find products that might help. He was impressed by Unforgettable and has offered to write for us and put links to our site on his, which is great.
I worked from home all day, catching up on emails. Yet again, being away from the distractions of the office proved very effective.
I started the day with a very constructive board meeting which lasted for three hours because there was so much to talk about. Later, I attended a Big Issue event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Big Issue magazine. Big Issue could be one of our investors in the next funding round, so it was good to meet future colleagues.
I spent the day working on an incredibly exciting project which, if it happens, has the potential to really shake up the dementia market. Sadly, I can’t divulge what it’s about – yet.
The highlight of this week has been getting settled into our new office. I’m so pleased that Unforgettable now has a larger workspace, and I know the team are happier too. I think we all agree this is the perfect place to support our next phase of growth. Thanks to everyone at Runway East for making us feel so welcome – and we loved the free cake on Wednesday. I hope that’s a regular thing…?!
