If you’re worried that a loved one is forgetting to drink enough, the Droplet Intelligent Hydration System has been designed to help. It looks like a normal tumbler or mug, but uses sophisticated technology to discretely monitor liquid intake as well as give gentle audio and visual reminders to drink.

Key Features:

  • Drink detection technology - friendly voice messages and reminder light settings
  • Suitable for hot and cold drinks
  • Made from Tritan - Scratch, shatter, stain and odour resistant

The heart of the Droplet is its Electronic Smart Base, which monitors how frequently the user drinks and will illuminate as a visual reminder if it has been too long. You can even record your own messages to be played from the base at 20, 40 or 60 minute intervals. Forgetfulness is a symptom that can have many complications for people living with dementia, and one of the most significant is forgetting to eat and hydrate properly. With the Droplet it is possible not only to remind your loved one to drink without having to be there, but also to check they are drinking enough.

As well as forgetfulness, many people living with dementia struggle with dexterity, vision and perception, making the act of drinking more difficult. The Droplet Mug is lightweight and durable with a comfortable grip handle, whilst maintaining the design of a traditional ceramic mug. Also provided in the pack is the Droplet Flow Control Lid, which helps prevent spills by controlling the flow of liquid for people with tremors or trouble swallowing. There’s a discrete spout or a hole for a drinking straw, providing dignified support for your loved one.

Other than the removable Electronic Smart Base, the Droplet is dishwasher safe.

This was brought for my Dad who suffers from dementia and was not drinking enough. Now when the reminder goes off he has a drink. I think sometimes it get on his nerves but it does remind him to have a drink.

A really good idea and a really good design. They're made from durable and good quality plastic and aimed primarily at those experiencing dementia. It's obviously important to preserve as much independence as possible as well as maintain good physical health facilitated by having enough fluids.
This hydration system allows an alarm to be set, or even a vocal recorded reminder which is easy to do, and a light to come on at the base of the mug as another visual reminder. It's an excellent idea and works as designed.

Great for my mum who has dementia.
